Motivational Maths
The resources we have selected for this section are some of the resources we use in the Active Learning Active Numeracy Project. One of the aims of the project is to encourage adults and children to feel more motivated about the possibilities of mathematics, and especially numeracy. We try to look beyond the 'normal' use of objects to see them through the eyes of a child. The objects are multisensory and open ended so that children are encouraged to share their existing knowledge, which often goes well beyond simple numbers to 5. To support the resources we have selected for this section are some of the resources we use in the Active Learning Active Numeracy Project. One of the aims of the project is to encourage adults the Fair Trade Communities we have sourced items from around the world.
