In June 2009 Perthshire, Scotland was the site of the Enthusiasm for Nature Conference 2009. Following the World Forum programme in Belfast, 65 delegates from 12 countries across the world assembled to listen to speakers whose work provided inspiration into naturalistic play and to visit the Mindstretchers Nature Kindergartens and Centre for Educational Excellence.

Who would be a parent? You want to let your children race about outside - run, hide, fall over, scream, snivel (and then get up to go on the rampage again) - but if you do, there's always the chance that their cuts and bruises could graduate to gashes, fractures and worse.

Claire Warden's dream of enabling children to closely connect to nature has become reality with the opening of Auchlone Nature Kindergarten - only the second Nature Kindergarten in Scotland! Children from the ages of 2 to 12 years are offered the opportunity to experience the wonderful changing and nurturing world of the outdoor environment both in the garden and in the wild woodland site.

Children need to have access to nature so that they can connect to their world and therefore start the process of understanding it. One of our underlying objectives at mindstretchers is to enable this to happen through the creation of a dynamic network of enthusiastic people.

Welcome to the launch of our new Catalogue. We have a wonderful selection of new items to share with you. We have sourced the majority of the items from small local suppliers, fair-trade routes and from companies that have ethical/environmental policies to try to create a range of Educational resources that support the environment and people who live in it.
