Whistlebrae is a high quality nursery in the countryside near Braco in Perth and Kinross, which Mindstretchers is taking over from its current owners. The centre will run as a nature kindergarten for young children between the ages of 2 ½ and 5 years old, under the direction and management of Claire Warden and Niki Buchan. The curriculum will be delivered through child led experiences using natural materials and set in outdoor spaces that are used throughout the year. Whistlebrae is surrounded by fields, has access to a large garden immediately outside the nursery and outdoor space in the woodland nearby.

The key to young children being fully engaged and motivated to learn lies in the relationship that they have with each other, their learning environment, and the people who work with them. The Mindstretchers approach has been created and developed by Claire, a leading consultant in the field of early years education. Her work in the field of consulting children through Talking and Thinking Floorbooks is now internationally recognised. Claire and Niki have a huge amount of experience as teachers, consultants and nursery managers, so the centre already has a solid foundation from which to grow

Children will play outside for the majority of their day and will therefore be provided with appropriate outdoor clothing to keep them dry and comfortable.
