7th EU Forest Pedagogics Congress - Successful Partnership Working for Sustainable Development Education

 

This event in Forest Pedagogics continues a tradition existing since 2006. Following the first congress at Sopron, Hungary, events so far have taken place in Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Luxemburg and Germany.

Programme Details

Price inclusive of:
• Arrival 2nd October 2012 and accommodation for 2 nights in either a single room or shared twin/double room
• Welcome reception on the 2nd October 2012
• Congress fee and attendance to workshops and presentations on the 3rd and 4th October 2012.
• Lunch on the 3rd and 4th October 2012
• Dinner, Bed and Breakfast on the 2nd and 3rd October 2012

Cost: £265.00 inclusive of VAT for single / £165.00 inclusive of VAT sharing a twin/double

Additional nights and special rates for partners/spouses are also available please let me know if this is required in your email.

Excursion on Friday 5th October 2012 cost @£50.00 per person.

Invoice Amount: To be paid on receipt of invoice to guarantee the booking and place at the event.

Cancellation policy: By 12noon UK time, Monday 24th June 2012 and then 90% of the paid amount will be refunded. After this date the amount is non refundable.

Tuesday 2nd October 2012: Arrival at leisure throughout the day. Please note that the official check-in time is 3 pm. Conference Registration opens at 5pm. A welcome reception to include a Scottish whisky tasting event will commence at 6pm followed at 8pm by a with a three course buffet dinner served in the Garden restaurant.

Wednesday 3rd October 2012: Breakfast is served from 7.30am. Main event will start at 9am to 5.30pm. Refreshments and lunch are included throughout the event today. In the evening you are invited to attend a dinner and Ceilidh (traditional Gaelic dance). Dinner will be served from 7pm. The Ceilidh will start at 8.30 pm

Thursday 4th October 2012: Breakfast is served from 7.30am. Main event will start at 9 am to 5.30 pm. Refreshments and lunch are included throughout the event today. For those that are leaving us today, check-out time is 10am (the hotel is able to store your luggage until the end of the conference). If you are staying an extra night then a special Bed and Breakfast rate has been negotiated for you. Please indicate this on the booking form attached. Dinner is optional this evening at a local restaurant in Dunkeld.

Friday 5th October 2012 (Optional): Three excursions have been organised to share and demonstrate best practice in Forest Pedagogy in urban and rural areas. The three areas are Edinburgh/East Scotland, Central Scotland and Highlands. Buses will depart from the hotel between 8am and 9am dependent on your chosen excursion and return at 3pm. Please note that it will be possible to be dropped off at a location in Edinburgh (for those on Edinburgh Excursion) or at Perth Train Station (for those on the Central Scotland Excursion).

Travel to the hotel: The nearest airports are Edinburgh International (about 1 hour drive) and Glasgow International (about 1 hour and 20 minutes drive) or Inverness (about 2 hour drive). Presentations and Workshops will be held on both Wednesday 3rd October and Thursday 4th October. Presentations will be lecture theatre style and will be 20 minutes long. Workshops will be in small groups and will be interactive. Workshops will each be 1.5 hours long. Workshops can be outdoors and in.

Congress fee for arrival on the 2nd October to 4th October 2012:
£165.00 per delegate for two days sharing a twin or double room
£265.00 per delegate for two days in single accommodation

Spouse / Partner Rate:
£50.00 dinner, bed and breakfast sharing a double room per night

The price quoted is inclusive:
• Congress delegate fee to include lunch and refreshments for two days from 9 am to 5.30 pm on the 3rd and 4th October 2012
• Welcome reception, whisky tasting and dinner on the 2nd October 2012
• Overnight accommodation on the 2nd October 2012

Excursions (Optional) on Friday 5th October: There will be a choice of three excursions. These excursions will aim to show best practise in Forest Education and engagement with young people in urban and rural areas. Detailed itinerary will follow in due course. The cost for each excursion is £50.00 per person and is inclusive of travel to and from the hotel, site visits and pack lunch. Please note we will be able to drop delegates off at main line train stations after the excursions for their onward journey if required.


Additional nights:
Delegates are able to stay additional nights and the following special rates have been negotiated. Please advise on your booking form if you would like this to be booked on your behalf.

Monday 1st October 2012 night and Thursday 4th October 2012 nightly rate:
£99.00 dinner, bed and breakfast for a single room per night
£55.00 dinner, bed and breakfast per person sharing a twin/double room per night

£89.00 bed and breakfast for a single room per night
£45.00 bed and breakfast per person sharing a twin/double room night

Thursday 4th October: (Optional) An evening meal will be arranged for a local restaurant in the village of Dunkeld. This will be paid on an individual basis.

Weekend Rates:
The hotel does offer weekend rates but guests require to stay a minimum of two nights (Friday and Saturday night). This is available at £250.00 dinner, bed and breakfast for two nights for either a twin, double or single room. We would be happy to book this on your behalf. Please advise on the booking form should you wish to take this opportunity

Market of possibilities:
There will be a Market of Possibilities for conference attendees to present their projects. Set up will be on Tuesday from 4pm or before 9am on Wednesday morning. Please indicate on the booking form if you would like to be part of the market. At previous Congress, this has been a popular and well attended arena that celebrates forest pedagogy, forest education and enterprise across nations. Delegates can request tables and/or boards (details about sizes to follow) for their displays and there is no charge for joining the Market of Possibilities.
